We are a socially responsible company. We promote the insertion in the world of work of people with disabilities or who are at risk of social exclusion. In 2016 the Incorpora Programme of the La Caixa bank’s Obra Social foundation recognised Costa Brava Foods as a company with a special commitment to improving the employability of these groups.
Society and collaborations
Costa Brava Foods Commitments: Integrating people at risk of exclusion, cancer research, sport as a way of learning values and supporting education
We contribute to health causes such as the Pediatric Cancer Center, a pioneering project in Europe and reference centre for childhood cancer research and treatment, along with the San Joan de Déu hospital, and the cancer unit of the Vall d’Hebron hospital. We support initiatives such as the charity run of the Oncotrail foundation in Girona, which also supports cancer research.
We see sport as a means of improving physical health and teaching moral values and we support initiatives to promote it. For us, sport is synonymous with effort, striving to reach a target or competitiveness but also camaraderie and teamwork. Consequently, we support a variety of initiatives such as the employees’ cricket team, the fair play trophies in the grassroots football teams and the Frigorifics Costa Brava women’s cycling team.
In teaching and research, we are patrons of the Advanced Polytechnic School of the University of Girona, with which we also collaborate on studies into pig genetics. With the Complutense University of Madrid, we collaborate in the VAV network to analyse drug residues in livestock.
We are involved in training young people. As part of the Kreas foundation, we encourage dual training, in the classroom and the company, to provide qualifications for workers in the meat sector.
We are patrons of the Creativación foundation, which has the mission of developing creativity in children through educational pathways in schools.
